Po schválení nejvyšších představitelů došlo k zásadní změně pravidel benchpressu. Tak, jako v řadě jiných asociací powerliftingu, i nyní bude při zahájení pokusu, když je činka v napnutých pažích, nutné vyčkat na hlavního rozhodčího, až zavelí START. Pak už následují známé povely PRESS a RACK (ODLOŽIT).

Pro české závodníky: WUAP je OPEN asociace. K registraci tudíž není potřeba žádné členství v jakékoliv asociaci či v oddílu, a ani nominace z předchozích závodů. Stačí se přihlásit, uhradit startovné a můžeš závodit (týká se českých závodníků, pro mezinárodní závodníky platí nominační pravidla dané země). V případě startu ve věkové kategorii OPEN (24 – 39 let) je pouze potřeba splnit minimální limit v dané váhové kategorii: Limity
